Body Damage is Cool
I am no fan of polymer frame handguns, said I would never own another one when I sold my Ruger P95dc. However, I wanted to play around with the .357 Sig cartridge and bought a lightly used Glock #31. Today I drove up to the factory in Smyrna, GA to have night sights added to my pistol. For $60.42 I got brand new factory night sights installed, a new recoil spring, new slide lock and springs, new extended slide release lever, new trigger bar, new ejector and extractor. The technician test fired my pistol five times to check the sight alignment then cleaned the gun before giving it back to me. WOW!!

I met the V.P. of Glock while sitting in the waiting room too. Customer service practically oozed from every nook and cranny. I couldn't buy high capacity mags from them though, only LEO and military can do that. Overall, I was impressed with the service and treatment...especially since I don't even like the dang things. I will refrain from making comments about Glocks being made from re-cycled milk jugs for the rest of this month.

Too many 4x4's, not enough time or money

I've heard similar things about other folks sending in their glocks to be worked on.

Fun fact. ALL glocks are shipped into the US with adjustable target sights, and they are all removed, and shucked off into a barrel in Smyrna, and shipped back to EUville to take another ride over to the US attached to glocks. This all has to do with US importation points.

I fricken LOVE my Glock 17. I will be buying a pair of his and hers G19s soon. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I am looking at the 36 slim compact .45.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

I have a 36 with XS big dot night sights and a CTAC holster. It's a good setup for carrying .45. I also looked at the G30 and while it gives you a few more rounds it's also a double-stack and thus considerably thicker. I probably could have swung either way but a nice used 36 came up for sale locally and I jumped on it.
