Getting the Wheeling Fever
How many miles can I go before the 4L30-E transmission needs over hauled?

I've got ~128,000 miles on it and I've changed the fluid every 40,000 miles. It occasionally (about twice a year) shifts hard going from 3rd to 4th gear.

If you want something done right do it yourself two or three times!

Body Damage is Cool
After reading your thread title, I thought to myself "130,000 miles".

I have no personal experience with that tranny though.

Roll Me Over
I was once told by a transmission guy that the 4L30E can last a long time if given regular fluid changes. Of course, YMMV...

Killed one at 110,000 miles. Installed new (brand new) one a month and a half ago.

I have a '95 Rodeo - 3.2l V-6.

Odometer just miles away from 250,000 miles.

Original unit.

BUT.....I'm not out beating up dirt trails with it.
