This is one of my favorite videos. There is very little difference between the true FE3 and our 'FE3' or 'FE-DOHC'. wiki it. There's um.. we have milder cams and valve springs, i believe our crankshafts are not forged unlike the true FE3. That's just about it besides the re-routing of the coolant for our RWD setup. I hear we have slightly blocked passages, but information I've found is sketchy and not always the most accurate.. I believe our motors can still have the FE3 cams installed along with VW VR6 valve springs (stronger) and reclaim some of our power we were denied. the FE3 n/a stock was like 160hp more or less.
I have a Mazda MX6 turbo and intercooler I got for free. I plan to fab the manifold I need to fit it on the Kia and have it done in a year or two. That'll be another first.. I've seen a few turbo sportages but none in the US that were true. There's one on cardomain, but they have NO pictures or data on the claimed modification. I believe they just said it to get more views.. anyway. If things get moving on that turbo, i'll take pictures and give detail on it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Does your engine run any better after forcing all the carbon build up out of it 69442? I know that my Sporty ran like a lil ole lady till I bought it and revved the crap out of it - litteraly.

Didn't realize I put 7k, I actually held it at 6500 and it pulled pretty hard. I didn't want to press my luck and actually red line it due to the mileage.

As far as running better goes, I run it always in a gear lower than I probably should so i'm always above 3k. The Sporty seems to like the 3000-4500 range best.
