My personal experience says that the motor is a bit over cammed from the factory and that your not going to see much from an aftermarket "performance" cam.

I went with a less aggressive factory roller cam and found that it was a nice improvement.

IMHO the best cam is the factory roller cam from AU. If your intent on more HP at the same RPM without a turbo then the UA EFI and cam is a good conversion.

The best conversion using parts from the US is to use the Starion turbo setup.

Way way back I bought a John Baker cam. I also had dual Mikuni side drafts, ported head and headers and a milled head.

The cam didnt do what I had hoped, I eneded up going back to the stock cam. I have run a few other cams and learned a bit about how they are ground and the effect on performance.

Long story for later.

1. I strongly suggest you listen to Kevin on this one.

2. If you decide to ignore #1, try Racing Perfomance Works in Australia.

3. I don't trust TEP at all.

4. REALLY listen to Kevin re the starion transplant. The absolute best bang for the buck, and all the how to is in the turbo bible post listed under the tech posts post index stickied at the top of this forum. For the price of a cam and headers and some kind of carb upgrade that combined get you a 40hp increase, with the drawback of loss of low end torque and a much peakier torque curve at higher rpms in an undersquare motor that's designed to run at lower rpms, you can straight bolt in a factory designed and engineered turbo system that gives you a min of a 70hp increase and up to 100hp increase using a totally stock starion system. Making sense to you now????
