Nice, my motor is crap. Yeah, after the MILD overheating episode which cooked my head gasket, I got a look at the cylinders, not good. I have not miked the bore taper yet, but there is a definite ridge I can hook my nail on but only on the longways sides of the bore. There are also for lack of a better term vertical "marks" on the same sides where the ridges are. I say marks becuase it?s not "scoring" which I could hook a nail on, just dark verticle "impressions". The engine is currently being yanked to see what the lower end looks like. I called Napa in the States on a fact finding mission and they don?t even list that motor so were no help. Anyone know a place stateside were I can order some pistons and rings? The bores are stock at 91mm, can I oversise the bores or do I need to put in sleeves?

Opinions, advice and sarcastic comments all welcome

Send Toasty a PM. I think he has some connections for parts on these motors here in the States. I recall him saying they're used as equipment engines...

Thanks, looks like there I can get Japanese made pistons here in Peru, saw 4 of them today, wierd brand but they look pretty good for about 150$ for a set of 4? I?ll go that route unless I find a good reason not to. Wonder what an authentic Mitsu piston runs? My guess is 125$ a piece, plus rings

Getting the Wheeling Fever
ITM makes the pistons for the 4d55. Cost $300 for the set with rings.
