So ...After landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day. Here's my story ...
About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance ...As I had been instructed, I said pleasantly, "Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?"
The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say "Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why the Hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?"
So I replied, "I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I just couldn't believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart."
My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work.

I did not get it. You were punished for that ? I thought that the woman had to be escorted out of the store by security because she verbally attacked the store employee. Why the employee is the one who is punished ?
From another point if view, I hate the store greeters and I think that they are annoying the customers.

We had a lil' ol' gal here who was a longtime greeter at Sam's. She had some pretty bad knees; no matter how much she hurt, she always had a smile and a cheery disposition. She had knee surgery done and was out for a bit. Once she was back, the customers that knew her wished her well.
So, not all of them are annoying.

That's right up there with one of my friend JC'S best lines used to a particularly offensive public employee:
"It's just a guess, but you never met Will Rogers, did you?"
