Well, been wanting to for a long time, but this is the year! I'm going to the May "GONE Moab" event, with my Nissan buddies (they let non-Nissans in as long as they're sponsored by a Nissan club).
I *think* we are running Porcupine Rim, Metal Masher, Fins N' Things, Poison Spider Mesa and Hells Revenge. Anybody run these trails before in a stock genII with open/open diffs? Oh, and any suggestions on places I could check on the way down there to find a gen II locker (I'd put it in after I got home, obviously. Buying one down there saves me bigtime on shipping).
Really excited about doing these famous trails. The trail spotters are going to have get used to looking for me on the RHS behind the wheel!

Fins and Hells Revenge will be fine, but I wouldn't try Hells Gate (Optional on Hells Revenge) with out a locker. I can't say on the other trails never done them. ![[Linked Image]](http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/motero/P1010534.jpg)

I've got open/open but after I yanked my sway bar I went places the Jeeps and and Yotas that were with me wouldn't go up. Decent driving and no fear of body damage can get you there every time. I'm not saying hells gate is doable by the way.....I've never seen that trail but this lady got er done with open/open web page

...I *think* we are running Porcupine Rim, Metal Masher, Fins N' Things, Poison Spider Mesa and Hells Revenge. Anybody run these trails before in a stock genII with open/open diffs? ... Sound like a blast! We're going down with one of the shops here in Denver the end of April. Fins shouldn't be a problem. The loose sand hill at the beginning is kind of a pain in the butt if its been hot and dry for a while. Poison Spider is my favorite. I watch guys with good ground clearance and open diffs do that one all the time in pretty much anything with wheels.:) Get 'em to do the whole run. Poison Spider -> Golden Spike -> Gold Bar. Long but a blast! Have fun! Edward

Never been in a Jeep in Moab but have been there 8 times and ridden a few of the trails you speak of on a bike. Fins'n'things is sand hell; porcupine probably okay in stock vehicle but there are tons of bikes there (especially on weekends). Poison spider has a few gnarly sections but fantastic views - I agree that coming down by gemini bridges (end of gold bar rim) is a nice outing. Have fun! I was supposed to be there in May but had a BAD crash skiing...

Good luck! There is no question in my mind that you will surpass your expectations!
If the shoe was on the other foot .... would you sponsor a Nissan?
Go Show them how it's done.... & send lots of pics; we would love to see their humiliation.

I'm local here in Utah and will be heading out to some scrap yards looking for a few misc parts for my gen1. go to transwest in up in farr west just by smith and edwards. last time i was there, they had probably 10 or 12 gen I lwb's. hey phil youll be able to run fins, hells revenge and poisen spider mesa stock as they have bypasses for most of the major obsticles. few places on the way up to psm where you will need skinny pedal to get up but once your on top youll be fine. id also recommend 7 mile rim and kanes creek, both are doable in a capable stock rig with a good driver and are a blast if you dont mind tippy 2 wheel action. metal masher and porcupine rim you may want to do a little more research into.
