Getting the Wheeling Fever
So my wife destroyed a 96 GMC full size pickup with my Raider 3 years ago right before we went to Japan...Bent the A/C Condenser, destroyed the grille/bumper, lower valance. Should see the damage to the GMC...my damage was "minor" LOL! I've been looking for a Grille but I won't pay the $200+ from the online Mitsubishi catalog. I found a site called brandywineparts. Does anyone have experience with them? They show under "new parts" a grille for less than $20, but under "used parts" they list one for $40????? I'm not sure what to think because they don't have a pic for the new one that is cheaper...Any thoughts? Can't find any in the Va. Beach area where I'm in training w/ the Army for the next few months....

Unless you're partial to the '89 original grille, I'd suggest considering the earlier style.

I replaced the grille on my '89 with the older style because there is greater flow area on the earlier grilles..... IIRC, the '88 grill has about 20% more open space than the '89. What is available on the '89 may be plenty, but I like the idea of more radiator exposure.

Body Damage is Cool
What you're probably seeing is a new aftermarket grille - not OEM Mitsubishi. The aftermarket parts can be really hit or miss on their quality and fitment. During my years in a bodyshop we would avoid aftermarket whenever possible, preferring used OEM parts instead - at least they would fit properly.

look up a new 83-84 grille, those are the stamped steel ones. I hear they are cheaper at the dealer. Those are the best looking I think. If you go aftermarket search long and hard for the grille with the foglight holes <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the heads up on everything. I'm definitely looking to go OEM. Are the 87/88 direct fits? Or should I expect to modify it? I would venture to guess that the size is the same...

Just make sure you use the correct piant.

Correct flat black piant for your grill
