Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey everybody I need some help. I posted in the 4Runner/Landcruiser forum about a '72 FJ40 that I got my eyes on. I'm not gettin a whole lot of responses and honestly I'm not too terrible familiar with that particular forum and the folks there. So could I bother any of you that may have some knowledge of this vehicle to take a peek at my posting and let me know what you think. I'm going to take it for a test drive tonight to get a feel for the motor and take a way better look at it. I'm just trying to get as much info in my head before I talk with the owner any more. Thanks again.

I think most of the FJ-40 folks hang out on the ih8mud forum:

Roll Me Over
I know they are prone to rust, especially around the rear window opening, along the rear between the body and hard top, as well as as other places.

If it is drivable $4k isn't a bad price at all, especially w/the V8 conversion already done.

I'm so torn..... Got a real good look at the rig a few days back and honestly it looks real sound. There's some rust, but for it's age it's lookin really good. Only issue is money and should I put it towards this truck or not. I'm probably gonna meet with the owner next week to take it for a drive.

If forkin' over money, GET A RECEIPT, not just a handshake. I hate seeing people get screwed on something so simple. If they balk, walk away and don't come back until you have all the money... and that's even a maybe in my book.
