Getting the Wheeling Fever
Was wondering did the 80-87 4x4 trucks (pickup) come with full bucket seats? Mine is a bench on bottom and bucket style on top (I call it a split bench)

You could get them with either a full bench or buckets; the latter of which you could typically find in the SR5's.

My 86's bench had the back go all the way across with non-detach headrests.

IIRC, most of the 1st gens('79-'83) only had a std. bench seat, and I think the buckets were only offered towards the end of the 1st gen.'s run('82-'83). The '84-'88's came w/3 types of seats, the std. bench, the bucket back bench, and bucket seats. I know the bucket seats were part of the SR5 package, and I think the bucket back bench were generally part of the DX package, and seem to be more rare.

I think the full buckets were only available on SR5 models, I know even 3rd gens.(in '90) when I bought my X-cab only the SR5 models had full buckets and the DX's had the 60/40 split bucket seats. I really wanted full buckets, but the extra $1500 for the SR5 package(included cruise control) and the added insurance premium cost made the buckets less desirable.

The bucket back bench seats are really a nice fit for the std. cabs, you get the support of buckets and the leg room of a bench.

I don't know if they were even offered other than the 2nd gen rigs, I haven't seen any in 3rd gens or Taco's.
