First response: Try using the system more. Sometimes something gets a little "sticky" from non-use/cycling.

Secondly: Has the truck been in a lot of water recently? Mine gets a little wonky after a lot of water crossings or cruising through large mud puddles, but it clears up after it dries out.

Somewhere on here, there is a link to a big write-up on how the system works, and it's surprisingly complicated, but the article takes you through the how's and why's before getting into a step-by-step diagnostic. Does anyone know where to find it (obviously, I type before I look)?

been sitting for a year. and who knows befor that. going to keep switching to 4wd and cycleing it. does that mean that its not locking in the front axle? or the hubs? or both. in lock the rear does lock and the blinking stops on the rear end in panel.

many thanks

Who knows what it's really doing without further diagnostics. I'm betting that it's more of a sensor problem than anything. These things are built right, so I'd suspect minor problems first.

Where in IL are you? You can probably guess where I'm from...

Two great links for this:

Mostly electrical troubleshooting and

Mostly Mechanical troubleshooting

Note that on the second writeup, he's working with a right-hand drive model, so when he says "driver's side" he means our passenger side.

Was the engine running? The system uses engine vacuum to move the front axle disconnect and engage the fwd. Sometimes weak vac won't do it, and you have to rev it and snap the throttle shut to get it loosened up and working...

got it working. just needed to work it. the vac. lines are really oil saturated so Im going to change them. i think im losing vac. through the lines. now the rear locker and the transfer case in lock mode are the only thing blinking. probly just needs to be worked also.

many thanks
