I had a pretty bad coolant leak lately. Looks like I have a rad leak and the thermostat housing seal is leaking too.

None of my regular online parts sites list a Pajro rad in their inventory, but I can get the OEM one recored for $180. Since it's aluminum tanks and not plastic, I think I'll go this route rather than wait for one from Japan.

Anyone know if the thermostat gasket is available from Napa for the 4D56? RMI has one listed on their site for $6.00.

I'm not sure Ed. I got mine from RMI when I got the t-belt stuff... As far as the rad goes, I agree that a recore is a good idea - I had Betsy III's recored, and it was good as new. So are you gonna have yours ready for some camping/exploring this summer maybe?

Depends at this point. I have a few things to do with it before I'll wheel it. #1 being the removal of those running boards!

Recore is done - looks good. They made a new gasket - since they couldn't find one, no surprise there. I don't know if they remembered I told them to try one for a D50 diesel. I could have ordered one from RMI, but this was a lot faster. They also found my transmission cooler lines were pretty hard and likely to fail soon. Replaced those no charge! I like this shop.

New fuel filter going in this week too.

The recore? Not sure, the shop sent it out to a guy. Even had him come in to look at it first. Shop was PHD Auto in Strathmore. I could probably get a name for the recoreing shop/guy if you need.
