I was driving today and had an unexpected shutoff. Was driving about 35-40ish and accelerated into overdrive. (Was probably in overdrive for approx 5sec. give or take) I then had to take my foot off the gas. Upon doing so, and while slowing down, my steering locked up and I realized my A/T oil temp and also my battery light came on, and that my truck had completely shut off while rolling. Shifted into neutral and started it back up no prob. Any ideas as to what the cause of the shutoff may have been? Thanks for the help!

Hard to say, but the first thing I'd be doing would be checking and cleaning battery connections and the several ground connections.

Bad connection, possibly bad alternator.

Clean all connections, use a multimeter to check battery (12-12.5V) and alt (at least 13.5-14.5v). And let us know.

It was weird the way it happened. I suspect I have some trans damage possibly and it felt like that was the source of problem. Which still doesnt leave me and better off haha

Just as a side note...when was the last time you drained/replaced yer trans fluid? How's the fluid looking? Do you have an auxiliary trans cooler on there?

changed teh trans fluid at about 200k miles. Still red and no burnt smell or hint of burning. Do not have an aux trans cooler; dint think there was really an applicable necessity for it.
