Does anyone have a spare leftside retracting seatbelt I can bolt into my 2nd row? We just had our second offspring, and I had zero luck trying to belt his carseat base into the side spot on the left. When we had our first, her carseat base just went in the middle which was an easy install due to the symmetrical nature of the seat and the non-retracting lapbelt. Now with her booster seat on the right behind my seat, kid #2 has to go on the other side.... The seats are too wide to sit beside each other. Any suggestions? This guy needs a ride in a Pajero!

Get a big C clamp and 2 pieces of 1/4 plate and straighten the tongue. Just put the tongue between the 2 pieces of 1/4" plate and clamp it down. It should straighten the tongue back to straightness.

always working

Thanks, I didn't think of that. Done and done. Now how do I retrofit a LATCH system in my '92 Pajero to avoid this PITA seatbelt setup!?!? The female end sits almost vertical alongside the side of my carseat base, preventing it from following the curve of the base, and the matching curved path of the tensioned tongue/belt. The thickness of the female receiver is what makes it misalign with the tongue. LATCH is genius.... wish I had it.
