Prob a good gun, but I'd just get a glock.

I know nothing about it, but it seems like an okay weapon. The main question, though, is what primary purpose do you have in mind for it?

Although I know nothing about this gun either, FN Herstal makes some high tech stuff. I bet that thing is every bit as good as a glock.

Putting holes in people who threaten me or my family with bodily harm. And what about method of access? Home defense? Home carry? Open carry? Concealed carry? Carry in vehicle?

For about the same price you can get a Springfield xd9, which I have yet to find a bad review. Check Buds used guns online, I find good prices on there. S&W is doing a 50.00 rebate on there sigma guns or two free clips plus you can get a laser sight for 50 more. That puts it around 300 or 350 with the sight. From what I read it seems to be a good gun.

Yes to all but open carry. Can't think of a situation I'd do that. I found a place last night with S&W 9mm for around 300, but I hesitated, and they were sold out this afternoon. I keep hoping I can find someone local with something I like...work out a trade for something I have in the garage.

From what I read it seems to be a good gun. I shot an XD (it was a .40 S&W) a few days ago that belongs to a friend of mine. I fired it along side a G22, both using reloads from the same batch. I can't really say much about the S&W, but I REALLY liked the XD, and the chamber was fully supported, unlike the Glock.

Good idea Frank! It might be different from state to state, but do need a different permit to open carry as opposed to conceal?
