Can anyone help out with this one?
I looked across the road at the car and noticed a wet patch on the bottom of the inside of the tire wall under the car - back passenger side. My first thought was a small dog had gone under the truck and pissed there, but I looked again an hour later it was still wet. Took a closer look and I think perhaps a brake line/cylinder seal has gone and it's dumped a large amount of fluid into the wheel and then it's pooled up and overflowed down the tyre wall. Will the fluid have damaged the tire at all? (Goodyear Wrangler.)
Many thanks Rob

If it is brake fluid it would not harm the tires. the big thing is that the fluid did not get slug up on the rotors (if you have disc brakes) and get on the pads. that can mess with braking.

... Took a closer look and I think perhaps a brake line/cylinder seal has gone and it's dumped a large amount of fluid into the wheel and then it's pooled up and overflowed down the tyre wall... If that's the case then before you do anything else check the fluid level in the master brake cylinder!!! If you've got that much fluid leaking out due to a component failure you may well be in danger of losing your brakes entirely due to fluid loss Eric W.

First thing I did was find someone to stand on the brake pedal while I looked at the wheel - nothing dripped or ran out.
Next I checked the reservoir in the engine bay - levels looked good, the same as when I checked on Sunday.
Cleaned up the pool in the wheel then started the moter and pumped the brakes, a little soft on first push then hard - normal, and no fluid leak.
I got the car home ok and have parked her up with the old leak mark at the top of the wheel. Will check in the morning if it's leaked again and will strip the corner down and check it all through.

Not to scar you but, in my old 69 Bronco I had a leak with the drum breaks and it was leaking inside the drum so it took awhile to see fluid come out, and it was a mess. it probably would not hurt to take the tire off and pull the drum and check whats going on the inside.

If it washes off with water and turns milky in the process, it's likely brake fluid. If the water beads up, it's likely axle lube and you need an axle seal. If a dog sniffs it and whizzes on it, its....

If a dog sniffs it and whizzes on it, its.... Well, the dogs took no interest, and there was no further leakage overnight, the tire was a mess but cleaned up with water and a little soap - the fluid didn't repel water, fluid seems to have climbed up the back for some reason... Can't get past this stage as it's on solidly, so the next question is right out of the stupid box... Where can I find 2 x 8mm bolts on a Pajero? I don't have any laying around, the shops/markets are closed for a week for Khmer New Year and I can't find any that fit from the truck.

I had all the brakes serviced and new cylinders and shoes fitted on both rear wheels on 30th January this year. If it is the cylinder, there may be trouble ahead...
