Specifically, the turn signal connectors. The wire has broken very close to the connector, so I'm hoping to put in some new wires and blades. I got most of the connector apart, but can't remove the blades from the plastic housing and can't see where they are catching.

Maybe it's easier to replace the connector? If so, where can these be found? I dont recall seeing these new connectors at Canadian Tire or the like.

The pins are usually removed by inserting a very small pick and depressing the tang that keeps the connector from being pushed out. Some tangs are on top and some are on the bottom. The first one will take you a while but don't give up. After you get one out, you can see the tang and the rest are easy.

Another option is to get the connector from a salvage yard and just cut the wires as far back as you can get. Then you can just splice the wires together with but connectors or solder them.

Yes, usually if you study the connector closely, you can see which side of the terminal will press inwards. Also helps to push in the wired end fully to get the little tang clear then use a small tool (I like a jewelers screwdriver) to push in the tang then at the same time pull out the wired end:

They make a tool specifically for taking these apart . Using a fine pick works for me though.

Yes, have one of those tools and it works for the Molex connectors which have the round pins and hollow round mating parts. But each different type of connector will need a different tool and/or technique to release the pins.

I have on occasion, pounded a piece of coat hanger wire flat enough to slip in the connector to release pins. A little grinding or filing is usually needed to shape the "tool" properly.
