Mouse won't move insertion mark #994604 04/22/10 10:33 AM

Body Damage is Cool
I asked this question several months ago and never got an answer, so I thought I'd try again...

When I'm typing in a post, I can't use the mouse to change the location of the insertion mark. For example, if I've written a couple of paragraphs and then notice that I've made a mistake near the beginning of my post, I move the mouse pointer to the location of the error and left-click it. In any editor, software, or other forum I've used, that will move the insertion mark to the new location. On this forum, it won't do that. In order to get back up to the place of the error, I have to use the arrow cursor movement keys. Then, when I have corrected the error, I have to use the arrow keys to get the insertion mark back to the end of the post and continue typing.

Is this caused by some strange setting on my browser (IE v8), or does it work this way for everyone?

Thanks,

--Bob

I have tried to replicate it on several different browsers (Firefox, Safari, OmniWeb).

I don't use IE8. I do have IE 7 on a Windows machine that seems to work with no problem.

Don't know what is going on.

Well, thanks for trying, John. I guess I'll have to wait until I find someone who has IE8 and uses this forum.

I have a pending forum upgrade. I know it will cure one feature bug (that feature is turned off) and provide several enhancements. There is one other bug I am aware of. Perhaps that will resolve these issues.

I am looking at June for the upgrade.
