Basically, just a network of stations communicating with each other. At least that's what we call it in the Navy. I think, here, Russ is just talking about a predetermined time and frequency that 4X4 wire members will be notified of so we can "practice" communicating with each other. For newbs like me, it'll be a chance to practice setup and get talking. I think it's a great idea...

Nets are just regularly scheduled on-the-air meetings of hams with common interests. Sometimes the interests are strictly for pleasure, such as collecting things, playing radio chess, or pursuing the Worked All States awards. Other nets are more utilitarian, such as those for traffic handling, emergency services, weather reporting, and so forth.

When I will back from my trip to the Europe(after May 16), I will setup 4x4wire Echolink conference. Then we can use linked repeaters for net.
