My 89 Gen1 Pajero is in need of rear disk brake pads. Does anyone have the Gen 1 factory disk set up on there rig and a North American parts supplier for these. Phil looked in his caps and came up with MB389570 as the part number. But I cant seem to find a cross referance for them anywhere.

I have same model, and the only replacement pads I could find were Maxistop from Australia. I imported two sets. If Maxistop is available in Canada, the part no is DB 8200 AE ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/4ePajero/Gen1%20Rear%20Brakes/DB8200AE_b.jpg) NB. Note the raised edges on the pads. Some Gen2s use a similarly shaped pad, but without the raised edge. When these wear to a certain point, the pads fall out of the calliper! (been there, done that). ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/4ePajero/Gen1%20Rear%20Brakes/MDB8200fromMaxistopB.jpg)

I'd look into montero sport brake pads. Maybe the earliest year they offered them in rear disks. I bet those would be the same as gen 1 rear disks

Good link - Milner does ship int'l, one of our members from Ontario with a diesel used em a while back. Shipping is the killer though, so maybe to order some other small, hard to finds to reduce your eventual costs?
Did you try that guy I recommended out of BC, Pacific JDM Parts? He's been absolutely awesome to deal with. He gets your part numbers via chassis number, so I suspect he uses CAPs too... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the help guys. Phil I havent tried you contact yet I was hoping to find something local before having to order some from Japan. Thanks 4ePajero for the tip on the tabs I found a set made by akebono that would fit but did not have the tabs. Good thing I didnt buy them. The one thing I have found is this set up was only used for 89-90 Pajero's. 91 gen 2 Pajero's have a different rear caliper. I might try and convert it all to the gen 2 set up. The search will continue.

Is your rear locked now? If not, maybe the effort would be better put towards getting a Gen II locked rear?

My contact is in BC. But I'd probably upgrade the calipers too, if you're hanging onto the rig, so you avoid this next time... I can take measurements for you if you want?
