so -
saturday morning i went back to the tree on loope. i felt a little silly, but someone had been there first.
i widened the hole a bit more so i wouldn't snag my top on it and went off to find the guy who broke thru.

i found him up near the 310 intersection in haypress flat.
he had worked across some of it and was heading out.
nice guy- we discussed options( i was considering the 306) on getting onto the "dry" side of things. he was just out looking around for a run this coming weekend(i think).
anyway, he headed back down the way and i figured i'd see how far i could get. didn't get quite as far as he did before i started winching myself back out.

i came up the lower end of 190b to the 306 and met up with my trail buddy. again he was on the way out, but assured me things were dryer this way(also offered to call home for me when he got out to report i was still alive).
i had tried to climb the hill some years before without success, but was able to make it this time. the rest of the run was uneventful and pleasant.
met several people at the springs who had come in from nevada. rafters were running the river and stopping for a soak or camping nearby. the river was higher than i ever remember this time.
this nice looking rig was on the n side. it had been soaked up to the dash.

not sure how it got out of the river- i'm sure it doesn't run- and the owner was gone.
i had already decided i wasn't crossing.
fishing was good, but catching was bad.
stayed 'till monday, then followed the river into nevada.

snowed on hwy88 and rain further down. got home after midnight.
interesting trip, i knew it was a little early, but had to go see for myself. next month will be prime.
