Dual gas tanks? #998994 06/03/10 05:25 AM

Ever since the 1993 T-100 got hydrolocked by the wife, I got to thinking...putting dual gas tanks on the 1998 T-100 by using the 1993 tank (passenger side fill) and fitting it in.

I know I should be able to use the same front support setup, weld in a pin holder fer the rear inside strap support. The rear outer support is already in place with the emergency brake bracket.

Has anyone on here put in dual tanks on their T-100? I searched in here but didn't find anything. I'm sure there had to be someone who did it...

Yes...I know I'd have to re-route the exhaust system closer to the driveline and put a low profile muffler near the rear tire holder. Any thoughts?

you're gonna have to lose the storage compartment for the jack under the seat....to clear the tank

Losing the spot under the passenger side fer the jack wouldn't be a problem. I'll just move the jack to the driver's side.

Looks great. Got any other tips/help installing the duals? What other methods/tanks did you consider? Got any other piccies? How did you setup the fuel/return lines? How do you switch the tanks?

I guess I could even go with another extended cab gas tank and route the filler neck to the original spot...

Looks like I can pick up a local tank from about $45 to $100.

fyi:
93-94 passenger side fuel tank
95-98 driver side
Fuel tanks that came from 4wd are slightly taller

Aux tank feeds the main tank through the modified filler. The fuel pump is activated by a switch, return line is also connected on the modified filler, evap line spliced. I have a custom bed and chose the driver side fill for the aux tank...extended fuel hose
