Getting the Wheeling Fever
Found a fair mechanic that did my diags with a pretty sweet setup from SnapOn. Turns out one side ? of my distributor and ECU were shot. Ran to the jy and got new ones for a total of 55.00. Now not only does she run...but she performs much better !! Before i maxed out at 58mph driving up the canyon basically redlining. Now i can hold 68mph w/o redlining. I am so thrilled !! He charged me 90.00 for diags and well worth it. So happy to be back in the saddle again. Any ideas what could have caused the improved performance ? Thanks for all the input with my dilemma and tolerating my whining along the way. Chris

your ECU went on the fritz? Did you save the old one? maybe the windshield leaked onto it. I heard that is a common problem with the windshield design.

Not sure on the leakage from the windshield. But i will take a deeper look next time it rains. I trashed the old ECU. There are 2 more at the jy if i need another one. I also have 2 extra MPI relays. cost me 1.99 each. I will give one away if any one needs a spare, just PM me (would prefer to give it to someone who tried to help me).
Yep only paid $100.00 for her. Lots of elbow grease regarding cosmetics and misc part repairs. 33's would be fun but maybe a little agressive for my dd. Waiting for Guardsmans pass to open here in a couple weeks so i can do some local wheeling and see how she does. Can't wait !!!

Guardsmans pass? That is going to be more than a couple of weeks. Butterfield canyon is still full of snow and it is 2k feet lower. Great to hear you got it running. The forest roads off of the mirror lake highway are great summer trails. If you need other wheeling ideas for the area let me know.

Thanks Motero ! Did you live in the area before AZ ? I am planning to hit mirror lake. When you say "forest roads" do you mean the access roads for firetrucks ? Can you drive those legally ? Can you spot the entrance to these trails easily ? Chris
