eric, very nice job. looks like you got an even top coat out of that nasty (to use) stuff. did you get the sherwin williams #686 tan? did you use an hvlp setup or regular gun? just curious, as i've been wanting to try that particular paint on an old raider that's here in town needing a good finish. i know the carc is somewhat of a pain to use for a polyurethane paint, but i've heard the new type 2 is much more manageable. it's at the store here for $69 a gallon, and since it's a low voc paint, i'm really looking at it hard for its durability. great job! it'll be lotsa fun, and you'll get a lot of questions from folks on the paint. jack b :-) in midland, tx

I got the paint from www.milspray.com. It's a "classic military vehicle restoration paint". It is a single stage water dispersable polyurethane CARC paint, low voc, which is why I bought it, though it was a bit pricey, and 2qts can cover an entire 2dr, so I have about 2qts left out of a gallon, which I'll probably need to touch up spots after I scratch/dent it. It was extremely easy to spray, right out of the can, no thinning, mixing, etc. I used a regular gun I picked up at harbor freight for $15, though they do reccommend an hvlp gun, but it worked fine without, though it is 2 coats of paint on top of 2 coats of primer. The black is just rattle can semi-flat black. I didn't have any bedliner left after spraying the entire interior. For that I used dupicolor bedliner kit (regular not kevlar) and sprayed it on using a paint sprayer for spraying popcorn textured ceilings, which I borrowed but you can get them at harbor freight for $25. It worked great because it gave the texture with it, didn't clog the nozzle once, though it obviously can only spray textured. For the guy that asked, my Raider has a 3" body lift, from roger brown, stock springs, tbars cranked (if you can't tell by my camber), 35x12.5 dunlop mudrovers and one mud king on pro comp rockcrawler 15x8 steel wheels w/ 3.75" backspacing, no rub

You ARE NOT!!! going to spray this stuff, and just rolling it on will almost kill you. I painted a deuce and a half with a bucket truck body on it, and it almost killed me. I had to wear a breather it was so bad. That was with a brush!

Turned out great. Love the "all business look" the paint gives it.

my friend paints CARC 5 days a week. Has to get blood tested every couple months too. He absolutely curses the stuff. He has to spray it on too. Runs like piss he tells me.
