But if you do the google search you will see that there is a company that is selling a DC 12volt driven Roots blower AKA real super charger for about 1500$.

Yes, that would be Thomas Knight who owns boosthead.com down in Miami. He has been playing around with positive displacement blowers for a long time. I've seen some anecdotal evidence that some folks don't get what they thought they were buying from him - not in the case of the electric supercharger, but with some of his prior Roots kits. As an example, when I started research for my own engine ideas, I had an email exchange with him and he sent a couple of pictures which I still have and can post, but I just wasn't impressed with the quality of work. His electric supercharger is a good idea for drag racers and probably works just fine as it was intended - BUT - it doesn't make a lot of sense to me to put a bunch of batteries in the trunk and charge them for several hours for only a 10 second run of the blower.

It never hurts to dream a little, though. That's why I like the idea of the compressed methane gas with multiple sequential nozzle discharges. You could use it for climbing obstacles or hils and for acceleration on the straightaway. I think I'll patent it and license it to General Motors. We could call it the Fast Ascent/Rapid Traverse system...... or just by the acronym abbreviation....... F.A.R.T.

Or - it might be easier to install a nitrous system.

This is just like trying to replace a pressure washer with a 5 gallon bucket. Just because both can supply 5gpm to the work surface does not mean that the bucket is gonna cut the paint off the concrete. There's a little matter of pressure + volume to deal with here. So a bilge blower can deliver 250cfm. What psi is that delivered at? A couple of inches of water column? It takes over 30' of water column for leas level air pressure of 14.7psi. You would get better results by putting 5psi in the tires.

And Frank, none of those suggestions is green enough. You need a cage full of cute little bunnies in the back, feeding the methane to roof mounted subsonic ramjet. You can just sweep up the cages and put it back in the feeder hoppers, as it apparently undergoes no alimentary change in the wabbits. This will need some wind tunnel modelling like a scramjet to get reliable combustion and effective thrust, but we can leave that to the wind tunnel boys up at Tullahoma. The only remaining input is water, as the bunnies are self replicating.

This system will discourage tailgating, reducing accidents and thus insurance costs, and in the event of taking a wrong turn in the blizzard because you bought cheap gps, you have survival rations plus something warm a cuddly.

You could always surgically alter the wabbits by getting each of them implanted with an "air tornado" vortex generator into each of the rabbits rectums. This will give you a significant gain in HP and MPG.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Man this great. Feed the animals and agitate the enclosure! From what I've read, the most boost you can get {and this if from the guys selling the 350$ high speed/RPM kit} is 1/2 lbs of boost. About the same as having a RAM intake out in front of the truck at 80 mph. That would be cool if you could get that 1/2 lb at 5mph. At any rate I don't think it will work either. At least not on my 90 First Gen analog logic ECU. My gut feeling is the First Gen ECU is to stupid/slow and I expect it to go bug f**k as soon as anything happens to the intake presure. I'll let everyone know how it goes so they can point and laugh say I told you so.

Just use a gas operated leaf blower plumbed into the intake. That will surely give a better gain.

I saw somewhere they put one on a civic and it did make a little more power, but in theory, you would need 2 of them for a 3.0L

Y'all hear the one about the guy who bought the Tornado that saves 20% on gas, and the fuel molecule splitter magnets that save 40%, and the slick 50 that saves 50%? Drove that sucker 20 miles and the gas tank overflowed...
