Thinking of painting stripes on a truck I am putting together for my Nephew(will be 16 in Dec.). The paint is a bright white/metallic, and the stripes will be metallic deep blue(blue interior). Taped of for stripes: ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v33/Snowtoy/Other/Stripes.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v33/Snowtoy/Other/oStripes.jpg)

Heck yeah! Go for the stripes. Throw a Bazooka tube in behind the seat, power it by a Pioneer Super Tuner III pull out tape deck, and it'll be a complete throw back to the 90s!

"90's? I had my mini truck in the late '80's. It was an blue '82 long bed, solid shell, lowered, w/15x8's, and an alright stereo. It was never a bass mobile, I actually listened to heavy metal and rock, not rap, and didn't want to have to wear earplugs like a buddy of mine did. He had a CRX, and all it was was amps and 12" subs, he drove around with earplugs. I think every thing that could rattle loose or crack did w/the that car.
If my nephew doesn't want it, do you think the stripes will hurt/help resale?

I can't think of a 16yo kid turning down what I'm presuming is a free truck.
Go w the stripes. If it's his rig, it's his gig about the time he parts ways with the truck.
Besides, if it gets jacked, then at least the description would be more than just 'a white pickup truck'.

If my nephew doesn't want it, do you think the stripes will hurt/help resale? Fair enough, I was speaking of the early '90s...same same. That said, I listened to the big hair band stuff, and there was a lot of bass in that music. Ever listen to Firehouse? Sorry, I don't want to turn this into a music thread. Rap? Nah, not me... As far as resale goes, I'm pretty sure keeping it a solid color that is a less specific taste will have more people interested in it. Just my .02

Be different, go "Hong Kong" stripes from wheelarch across hood to other wheelarch, kinda like a horizontal pinstripe suit

Not completely free, he is supposed to work off the cost of paint/wheels, etc., around my place. The deal was the same for his older brother when I first picked up the truck back in '06. It took his brother a year to pass the test(waited until he was 18 so he didn't have to pay for lessons), and can't seem to get the hang of a manual. His older brother didn't seem to eager to work in trade for anything I had done to the truck, the younger doesn't mind physical labor, so I know he will work. I am hoping to make a deal with him, trade him the truck for playing football this fall. He is 6'2" about 210lbs, naturally strong, would make a good Tight end, and a scholarship is his best opportunity to go to college, he wants t go to Stanford. He is a straight A student, but not the type of student who would get a scholarship on academics alone.
