i have a guy interested in electric cooling fan on radiator on the 91 monty w/3.0 i'm parting out. i want to hook up to 12volts to test for him before i ship. plug off it has a blue and black wire . does it even matter which way i hook it up? i thought on these it spins one way and if you switch leads it would spin other way? is this correct or not. i dont want to burn it up testing it? any help appreciated - mike

Body Damage is Cool
If there are only 2 leads, then one has to be power and the other has to be ground. If you reverse them, the motor will just spin backwards. You should only have to put power to it for a few seconds to prove to the guy that it works, so even if it's backwards you shouldn't do any damage. If you're really concerned, pull up a wiring diagram and find out which color wire is the power lead and then there should be no question.

how do you check it if it has three wires? and not to high jack this post but could you tell me why disconnect the sway bar, and how did you lift the gas tank?

If it had 3 wires I would definitely be looking up the wiring schematic to find out why before I started applying any power to it.
