I'm going to take the front cover and valve cover off this weekend to see if I can find out what the heck is going on in there. I figured I would ask you guys to see what you think. It sounds like its coming from under the front cover. It runs good and has great oil pressure. Its been awhile since I drove it but I'm thinking it had a vibration I could feel in the floorboard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtR6qNdnZqAWhat do you think?

Have you checked/adjusted the timing chain guide? I've never had the cover off of this motor. It ran good so I threw it in. Exactly what I thought though. I am hoping its a guide of some sort rubbing the chain. It seems when I took another motor apart, that one of the guides had broken off and was lying inside the cover. Its been awhile and I'm forgetful.

Have you checked/adjusted the timing chain guide? I dont think your under standing what he's trying to say ...You have two chains in the 2.6 ...One runs the cam and one runs balancers ..You CAN ajust one the balancer run ..Look on the timing cover theres a small cover you remove ...Try that .. I'm sure you know this ... Pull the valve cover and look down the chains and see what you get ...Look for small black plastic chunk (chain runner dieing) ... Good look David Hazardous Toys inc

The chain stretches and starts to get slappy. The guide can be adjusted to manage the slack. You can do it without removing the whole cover. Do have a service manual for it? Download one from my sig if you needed.
