I checked the whole website and was unable to locate the answer to my question <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> There are two fuel lines coming out of the fuel pump on my '87 Dodge raider - 2.6. Like a dumb @$$, I forgot to remember where they went to on the carb. Does anyone have a photo of the correct hook up or maybe know enough just to tell me? Thank you.

When I changed the fuel pump on my Raider some years ago, the OE and replacement pumps were different. I simply installed the outlets to the closest portions of the carburetor, respectively, and drove the truck. I couldn't see that the outlet positions made any difference, so went along.

The fuel pump has an internal fuel pressure regulator (FPR). One of the lines is regulated pressure to the upper front connection (to the fuel bowl) on the carb. The other one goes to the lower dside front of the carb to feed the aux accel pump well, and then to the fuel return line to the tank. It may or may not affect the carb if you cross them.

I can't figure out a way to test which is which. You might use the old hoses and see how they line up pump to carb...

All the info I can find is on the fuel pump with three ports <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> Do you know if the fuel pressure varys by port? The manual has nothing on it. Grrrrrr...... haha

OK, figured out how to test it.

get a 30psi plumber's pressure gauge from the hardware store, with a fitting to fit the fuel line, and about 2' of fuel line and 3 clamps.

With no lines hooked up, crank the motor and determine which line has suction on it. This is the fuel feed to the pump. Put the gauge in one 6" line with a clamp, clamp the other end to the fuel pump to one of the pressure ports, and put the other 18" line into a container (probably don't need a clamp at the pump). crank the truck and see if the pressure on the gauge rises and stabilizes at 2.8 to 4.2psi. If not, swap hoses and retest. The one that stabilizes is the regulated pressure to the upper front top inlet to the carb, and the other goes to the other carb inlet.

Alright so I tried your idea and it worked good. Once I took it out on the road and hit the gas tho it bogged down untill it hit about 2500 RPM then it took off like a bat out of hell in every gear. What could cause this wierd lag? I checked some other post that are similar, but not the same. Any ideas? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
