Need a Spot
Hey everyone! I need some serious help here, since I'm a complete jeep newbie. I have a CJ that was given to me and I'd like to do some serious work on it. I definitely need a new tub. I found and aluminum one that I've decided to use. I've also found a TJ front fender/flare kit that I'd like to use on it.

When I asked the salesman for the tub if the TJ fenders would work, he assured me they would. Now, my pocketbook is always this and sometimes even has cobwebs in it, so I figured I'd better get some more educated info.

Any info, suggestions, insight would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks

TJ front fenders are not a direct fit to a CJ tub. Maybe with the aftermarket aluminum tub they may work since the fender bolt holes probably are not predrilled. I doubt that the CJ hood, radiator and grille will work with TJ fenders, so you would need to use TJ parts there, too. The front grille to frame mounting point will probably not line up with a stock CJ frame, a new mount will most likely need to be fabbed.

TJ front flares won't fit CJ fenders without alot of "custom" fitting. The rear TJ flares work pretty well on CJ's, they allow you to cut the tub for more tire clearance. Slight trimming of the lip on the flares that fits the opening is needed as the wheel opening is larger on a TJ

Hope this helps!
