Hello all, silly question. Is it correct for my 4x4 dash lights to be flashing (only the front two tires) during this condition:

engine off
key on
1995 montero ls

I went out this morning and the truck was dead. Will not turn over, will not "click". Battery is up, all the accessories work. It's been pouring rain all day so I have not had a chance to mess with it. The green lights are flashing, I just don't ever remember them doing that before. Thanks for you help.

Matt

Yes tranny is in park(P) and 4wd is in 2H.

Other things I noticed:

-Park and Nuetral relay is clicking
-fuel pump is getting power
-lights turn solid when I put it in 4H

All these things seem to be normal. It's almost like the small power wire that clips onto the starter has fallen off.

The flashing lights are a non-issue. Once you get it driving again they should go out. The truck is not getting the signal that it's no longer in 4WD and needs forward/backward motion or inertia against the driveline to tell it as much.

Had to brave out the monsoon today. Stuck my head under the truck to find the little starter wire had fallen off. Stuck it back on and good to go.
