 Gear interchange w/ Supra

I know this is an oddball question, but bear with me.
Does anybody know if the R/P gears from the truck drop-out 8" differentials also match the dimensions of the Supra/Cressida 8" IRS differential?
I know the carriers are the same, due to the supra-LSD swap.
Which makes me hopeful, the ring must at least be close. But given the different style of teh housing, I could also easily see the pinion shank, the gear size, or lash etc being different.
In short - could you fit say "truck" 4.88s into a Supra IRS?

Don't really care, just so the gearing matches... say... another axle on a truck <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> I checked Randy's website, they don't list any parts for the Supras. My guess is, there is a supply/demand issue here. I mean, what nutjob in their right mind would want to put 4.88s in their supra? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />

Try Jawsgear, he also builds Supras. Thinking of using an MKIII 8" diff, or the larger MKIV(8.6") diff in place of the 7.5" diff? Given the weight of the Supra(especially the MKIII), 4.88's would work good for a road course track car or 1/8mile(might be just a bit tall), the taller gear would keep the rpms up, negating turbo lag.

MKIII, yes. What has been dubbed as the "supralux" swap. Haven't foudn alot of info on it. Seems pretty straightforward - aside from changing the diff, you have the CVs to worry about. But teh advantage is, much better CV angle... less breakage. Plus you can get an LSD basically for free.
But I want to be sure I owuldn't be stuck w/ the stockl 4.10 gearing of those IRS diffs.
According to Precision Gear, the same model R/Pset is for pickups, 4runner,s nad Turbo/v6 Supras 79-95... so that's good news.
