Lately I've been having trouble with the latch sticking open, so I have to hit it up with some Kroil and then work it back and forth 'till the spring will pull it back on its on. Well, after the latest session of doing this, I closed the hood and then realized I needed to check one more thing. I pulled the lever in the cab, and it didn't grab. So now I'm trying to figure out what's going on and how to get the hood open.

Any ideas?

If it matters, '94 pickup 22re.

Body Damage is Cool
not sure what "Kroil" is .. but I had simular problems with my hood latch ..

I used a white lithium grease (spray) .. cured the problem

Kroil is about the best penetrating oil there is. I use it for all sorts of stuff. Anyway, I finally got the hood open. I had to rip the grill off (not too hard cause I had previously broken off most of the attachment points) to gain access. What had happened was that, while I was previosuly working that latch/cable back and forth, the cable end/ball came undone out of the latch mechanism that it attaches to. I didn't catch it and closed the hood.

Just saw this. Was going to say check your bellhousing to make sure it's still attached. You've got one on each end, IIRC; check it out.

On Aerokroil, it's what you use between PBlaster and a torch.

Thanks for the "heads up" on that.
