Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm having some issues engaging the 4wd on my truck. It appears to be the vacuum control solenoid. If I use the lever in the truck to engage the 4wd, I hear a click in the dash from the relay but no 4x4 light. If I remove one of the vacuum hoses on the front solenoid, it will engage and the light on the dash will illuminate. I priced this part new and it's outrageous @ $400. I'm having trouble finding any in yards. Do any of you have any leads on where I might find one? The part number is 85440-34010 VCK21L. T-100 4x4 model years 8/94 - 7/98

Give fleabay or Rock Auto a try. There's an *old* thread here where someone mentions bypassing the solenoid with a toggle switch. Might find it with the part number.

Need a Spot
Give car-part.com a try. They may have exactly what you need. They are salvage/parts yard pieces, but they should be ok.

Finally after a day of calling up and down the East coast I found one. $75 used. Seems pricey but the alternative is even more pricey. Thanks for your help.
