anybody replaced the oil cooler on their T? tips, part numbers?
mine looks like it is starting to leak. it is hard to believe that this tuna can has lasted nearly 16 years. sure glad it did because it looks like a PITA to replace.

Is yer oil cooler rusted and leaking that way or could it be the O-rings?

Big O-ring part number is 90301-61004
Small O-ring part number is 15785-35010

Using www.toyotapartsales.com I came up with this...

Part Number: 9030161004
List Price Core Price Your Price Engine - Engine parts - Oil cooler - Seal Seal 1997 - 1998
$4.40 $0.00 $3.17
Part Number: 1578535010
List Price Core Price Your Price Engine - Engine parts - Oil cooler - Gasket Gasket 1993 - 1998
$1.20 $0.00 $0.86
Part Number: 9030167004
List Price Core Price Your Price Cooling - Oil cooler - Oil cooler - Gasket Gasket - 3.4 liter Engine 2000 - 2004
$4.40 $0.00 $3.17

Here's the part number fer the oil cooler itself...

15710HCOOLER, ASSY, OIL, NO.2
15710‑620305VZFE..VCK21; 5VZFE..VCK11..MTM1$859.93
15710‑620315VZFE..VCK21; 5VZFE..VCK11..MTM1$855.69
15710‑620505VZFE..VCK21; 5VZFE..VCK11..MTM1$695.54

If it's the oil cooler...you should be able to git that off of eBay fer cheap...like $30?

Yep you need to replace the seals and crush washers on the union. Might also want to replace the lines as well once you're in there.

the oil cooler has very bad rust at the seams, so i think the can is actually leaking. access looks tight in that area. so, i don't think it is a good idea to reinstall the old cooler can.

thanks for the PNs. is the cooler really $700-800?
usually i buy oem parts from caroll at gettel.

I'm pretty sure you can use the ones off of any 5vzfe engines.

I would call them to confirm and git piccies if possible.

thanks guys. anybody replace this tuna can yet?

for some reason, at about 15 years old, 260k miles...rust has really increased all over the underside. especially control arms, fuel tank/lines, tranny cooler lines, ... just sort of rusted at an exponential rate over the past year. i guess the factory coatings just gave up.
