Hey guys, I had an unfortunate mishap the other day, I flopped my truck on its side. I'm now in need of a passenger window for a SWB 2nd gen truck. Oh ya, north american montero windshields work fine in the two doors for all those those SWB owners wonderin. I also need a side mirror. Otherwise the truck is fine, faired quite well for a full flop, lol.

Sooo, I know it's unlikely, but does anyone know if the front doors on a four door are the same size as the two door doors, cause gettin glass out of the states would be much easier. If no one knows, could one of you four door owners give me a measurement, say across the body line just above the door handle. On a side note, I didn't realize the Pajeros with the wiper defrosters also have heated mirrors, saweet!!!!

Likely irrelevant, but the GenI SWB and LWB front doors are the same. Maybe that's the case on the GenII? They look the same in all the pictures I've seen. You could check ASA with a VIN of each to see if the P/N's match, too...
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

across the body line just above the door handle. Just took measurement of driver's door. 108,5 cm is the trim line's length just above the door handle.

Pajeros with the wiper defrosters also have heated mirrors, saweet!!!! Same here. Do you have separate switch or mirrors turn on by the wiper defrosters button?

Sorry, the first time I read this I thought you meant the rear fixed glass. The front glass definitely fits. I was driving to work one time in my swb a few years ago when a flatdeck transport passed me going the other way, and a rock flew off and I had glass in my ear and my coffee (thankfully I was sitting on the RHS ). I ordered my glass directly from my local Mitsu dealer in Calgary. There were a couple of options for color, depending on your factory tint (bronze or smoke IIRC). Was kinda pricey, but they had it in a couple days, and I put it in. $300+ I think? Direct from a genII North American Montero 4 door. Sorry if this is slow to come to you. But I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting more info and pics about the flop! Sounds like FUN!! Phil

Oooh! Happen to know if those wipers will interchange with the wipers on a second gen Mighty Max? Is it just electric heating? Would be awesome for this upstate NY white crud if they do!

Awesome, I haven't checked the site in a few days and now there are all kinds of replies. I'm just going to head across the border and hit up a wrecker, I want a passenger bouncy seat (LHD driver, lol) and a hood without a hood scoop and some other little bits, I'll just grab some glass at the same time. @ Pajerist. I didn't know I had heated mirrors because I had never turned on the wiper defrosters, so yes, it is the same button. Downside I broke the mirror housing so the replacement I got doesn't have the heated mirror in it yet, although the original mirror itself is fine so I'll retrofit it. @ Phil. It wasn't one of those fun flops, I had been giving it too hard with work, school, and play so I was really tired drivin home, didn't realize I was tired enough to nod off. I woke up as I was at a forty five degree angle going into an eight foot ditch. Barely any damage to the truck, basically just the mirror, but I was close to home and couldn't find my cell phone in the dark with water coming in the truck so I walked home. Someone saw the truck in the ditch and called the police, they got to the scene and thought I might still be in the truck cause the windows were fogged from the ditch water. So they took it upon themselves to break my passenger window, which incidently would have showered me in glass. The worst part is they missed the window about eight times denting the crap out of my door frame. Oh ya, I sucked in a bunch of water as well, think thats how the motor stopped, got it home and pulled the glow plugs, put the truck in gear and pushed it and water started gushing out. My heart sank, but turned it over with the glow plugs out and sprayed water everywhere and the compression seemed even. So I put the glow plugs back in and tried staring it, runs great, phew big sigh of relief. Oh ya, if anyone sucks water and tries this make sure you disconnect the tubing to the intercooler and blow it out, when I first started it I had it all disconnected, good thing cause as soon as the turbo spooled up it shot a massive splooge of water out the pipes, lol. @300D50. I'ts one of those defroster strips along the bottom of the widshield. Since the north american monteros didn't come with wiper heaters and I needed to replace my widshield I found this company http://www.frostfighter.com/prt2600spl.htmAll I needed was the defroster strip since all the electrical already existed in my truck, but you could use the entire kit.
