had a guy inquire on my transfer case i have for sale on my 91 lwb monte, 3.0 w/auto. told him i would have to get back to him on it. looked on the tcase for numbers, looked in the fsm i downloaded here and googled it, and could not find any numbers ? can anyone tell me who made it and what the part number is ? also what else if anything it will fit ? thanks in advance - mike

If you mean like "NP-231" or something like that, I don't recall what it is, but even if there was one I don't believe it will mean anything for the buyer since I don't believe it was used in anything but Mitsubishi 4x4's. It was likely made by Mitsubishi or Aisin but I'm sure others may be able to chime in. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

FWIW, the tranny in an 89 (similar to yours) is a KM148-6-FSI

yeah, thats what i meant. i'm thinking your right, that it was a mitsubishi part. i know i read it wont go behind a manual tranny, but i wanted to know what years it will fit with an auto tranny ?

Probably any gen I auto tranny. You can very possibly verify this by comparing part numbers between various gen I/II auto's and their corresponding xcase with the Mitsubishi ASA program and the various VIN number's we have in our repository for just this kind of research. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

thanks, having a problem with it though. i click on the "usa caps" in the first post that toasty did and it keeps coming up " webpage can not be found" .

i seem to recall this being a problem once before, that's why i only downloaded the " fsm " ......any thoughts ?
