Need a Spot
Have been looking for another Monte and came across a 97 SR with a broken timing belt.Owner states that it needs a new engine? Is the 3.5 an interference engine, can valves hit pistons?never had the experience myself but supposedly 3l was a non interference engine. Also is transmission bolt pattern the same for 3l&3.5l?
Owner of 97 is asking 600 and this looks like a good project for me to add to my Monte collection.

And, yes, it will bolt up. There's a current thread on 3.5 into a gen 1

Thank you,its starting to sound a little costly then(pistons, valves head job, head kit.....)$1200 at least in engine work and donor 3.5's are probably scarce here.

Lee, in your signature it says you have a sloped body lift. I give up, what is that?
