My TJ has been under cover for the three years I'v owned..for the most part. So I left it out in the rain and it is leaking on the passanger floar..
I thought maybe someone on here would give me a place to start...
I KNOW I could get out there in the cold with a hose and find the leak myself. Just thought someone might have a little history with a similiar leak..
The YJ's leaked from the air intake in the hood area. Is it still the same?

Soft top or hard top???

I have heard of door gasket on soft tops being prone to leaking given the right rain conditions. That should show up close to the door.

I know that is a big issue with my YJ...

FActory hardtop that I was assured by previous older owner had never been taken off.
It's sitting out there in the rain a I type. I intend to go out from time to time to see how it's doing.
My first guess last week was the windshield or the heater vent on the cowling <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />.

The early TJ's had issues with leaks from the cowl area, There is a TSB on it. Check to see if the water is coming in from the firewall area behind the heater box,or down in the right kick panel area. If so, there may be some seam seal issue.

Check for leaks dripping in from the door opening, which may be from the door seal or from inside the door from the watershield behind the door panel. Both would puddle on the passenger floor.

Another possibility is the windshield, the seal to the glass or cowl may leak, causing a drip behind the dash.

If the Jeep was parked nose down the driveway, a leak at the rear hardtop window may allow water to travel from the rear floor, under the carpet, to the front floor.

Hope this helps!

Suapicions confirmed! Thanks Marty. Last leak was fairly level and today it is slowly reining all day with the front uphill by about one foot or more..
It's 44* and drizzle as I type. I'm allowing the weather to clear a bit before checking on it..

The TSB number is 23-09-99, it covers all TJ's from '97-'99, and would also help on later ones.

You might be able to find the text and pictures on the web, or your friendly local Jeep dealer tech or parts guy may be willing to print it out for you.
