Hey guys I was just wondering if you have to have a title notarized in South Carolina to have it transfered over to Ohio. The car came from South Carolina, however the title was never notarized, he only signed the back of the title... Thanks, any info would be great!

There is no place for a Notary on the title, so the answer is no.
When I bought my truck here in SC it was not required, but North Carolina it was.

Usually the laws of the state the title is coming from are the ones that apply. I bought my red truck in VA and got it titled here in NC. A notary is required for a NC title, but since it was a VA title I didn't have to have it notarized. Should be the same application from SC to Ohio. It shouldn't matter what Ohio laws are, it should depend on SC laws. Which to my knowledge don't require it to be notarized. Then again you never know, Ohio could be one of those weird states.

Try this site, has all states info.. http://www.dmv.org/Looks to Me that S.C does not require notary when selling. So you should be fine with an Ohio transfer of title without notary, However you will need an inspection of the vehicle to verify odometer and Vin. Randy
