Hi, I got nutin but bad news round here.
My dad is dying of cancer, he's 92 and ready to go, my dog is in a race with him to the grave, now mom is givin up watching dad fail. On top of all this crap my Trooper threw the harmonic balancer aka vibration dampener. I feel like I am in a damn country song. This dampener falling off may sound familiar, because it is, the same thing is wrong with my other 225t, <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Sigh, so I am in a rough place, all my time is taken caring for my parents. I've been looking for another swap I could do but free time is killing me. I thought about doing a 4BT in a CJ Jeep, but that like most swaps is just too much work right now.
In desperation, I'm hoping that another Isuzu diesel will fit the tranny on my Trooper. I see that the import Isuzu engines people like Acy76 put in his gasser takes a long time and a lot of mods, mainly because of the right drive issue, but maybe the engine will mate to my tranny????
Any ideas? I'm at the end of a short rope and I think the rope is on fire

the 4jb1t will fit easily in your trooper, but be sure to get a tranny with it as it is not compatible with your msg that is behind your diesel now. i did the swap in my 86 and it did not require much, in m,y opinion. also, the 3.1 can fit with similar ease i am told. no direct experience with it personally, however. sounds like you are having rough times, my condolences on your hardships.
