Does anybody know where I can locate a Raider Heater Hose? #1019442 01/28/11 10:22 PM

Getting the Wheeling Fever
The Mechanic that installed my Daughter's reconditioned Engine into her '88 Raider lost the molded hose that goes from the water pump to the heater core. He used regular hose and it kinked and the heater hasn't worked all winter. He is in Jacksonville, FL and I'm stuck up in the snow in DC for the next few days. Any ideas? This guy already has my money and isn't motivated to try that hard.
Thanks!

IIRC, someone mentioned the local parts places may be carrying them now. If not, your local dealer or an online dealer will have them too.

After further invesigation I have learned that this is a metal tube that goes through the firewall to the heater core. It gets better each time I talk to this Guy. My guess is he never even faked this like he said and just used a hose to detour around the Heater.

IIRC, that's just a simple metal tube right? Maybe check mitsu asa program using your VIN no for exact Mitsu part number then check with Mitsubishi or an online Mitsu parts source like Rock Auto, etc.

It can be replaced with 1/2" copper pipe. I mushed one once pulling the engine when it swung out of control, and my straightening efforts just split it. I used some pipe and one or two 90* bends to replace it. If it's the one that's made onto the heater core, I'd just cut it and splice with a piece of rubber hose and a couple of clamps. This is an opportunity to take the heater core out and flush it...

I have the metal bypass pipe, but don't have time at least for two weeks to help out. The heater control valve is positioned inside the cabin by the heater core, and can be removed separately. The AZ crew guys may be able to help with the pipe sooner than I.
