It appears all the 4wheelin I've been doing in this record-setting snowfall has taken its toll on the '88. The transmission wouldn't shift until it was warmed up this morning, but being below 0 last night I figured anything and everything that could freeze probably did (along with the brakes). Anyway, took a peek under the hood and the cable is bunched up against the throttle. I'm guessing it broke down by the transmission, but I won't know till this weekend. Couple questions:
Will the cable on the '87 swap over?
Any tricks on removal and replacement? (I do have the FSM and a Haynes, but sometimes those with experience can be more helpful)
I appreciate it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

You have to pull the tranny pan to get the old one unhooked and the new one hooked up. Adjustment is critical. Sort of tight getting to the lower end.
