SAW's & clicking #95529 10/13/02 01:38 AM

I noticed that the SAW's have what looks like a heim joint on them. I remember back when I had the sway bar disconectors on they clicked like crazy due to the nature of the heim joints. I no longer have sway bars but since the SAW's I notice a slight clicking. Any one with SAW's notice slight clicking on rough roads...? or should I be looking elsewhere for the source of the clicking.

Thanx,
NJ

You should look somewhere else for what's clicking.

After the whole Rockstomper swaybar disconnect fiasco, it was obvious that heims are bad for use in vibration environments. But the SAW's are ALWAYS putting a massive force in the same direction on the heim joint, even while on a bumpy road. So I think this is one application of a heim that's great. I never hear my SAW's clicking.

I've previously gotten clicking from the top nut on the rear shocks, the nuts on the rear swaybar disconnects even if stock, the rear lower control arm bolts (I replaced them with very slightly larger bolts), and other places. Nuke front disconnects still have one heim joint, although no one complains about them.
