Unlike the Isuzu crowd, the KYB Gas-A-Just are popular choice on these trucks. Personally I ran with the Bilstein HDs on my 89 LS and had a great ride on and offroad.

I had Monroe Gas Matics on my 87 and although it was great onroad.. it was as if I had no shocks when I was offroad.

I would recommend keeping away from the cheap autozombie shocks or any cheap twin tube type shock. You will do best with a high pressure gas monotube such as KYB gas-a-just or Bilstein.

Any issues with the KYB's length and a 2" lift (OME rear springs)

John Baker used to recommend them, I have never tried them but would like to hear from someone who has.

If you're interested in replacing them with OEM check out:

https://www.mitsubishiparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html

You might as well go for a shock that has appropriate valving for your vehicle's weight. I think they are under $40.
