Have 2 York compressors in my parts pile for on-board air. Both are the large, 210 model, verified by checking the end of the shaft. Only difference is that they have different heads and hose connectors. The one on the left was already being used for OBA on the donor truck(say's FoMoCo on the tag) and the one on the right(Says Motorcraft on the tag) was already unhooked when it was pulled from the vehicle so I'm not sure what they used it for.

basically I'm wondering if one is better than the other or if they just changed the shape over the years and it doesn't matter.

They should be the same, Nice Score dude! I hope to hook up my truck with one some day. I've got a few friends with them and they can run air tools right off the compressor and airng up tires is FAST <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

the bodies are identical just wondering why they have slightly different heads and if one design is better than the other. They are both the "long stroke", 210 model.

Body Damage is Cool
Looks like it is just different to accomidate different fitting for whatever vehicle they came off of. I would pick which one you like better and go with it.

If you can smell the wood burning it's because you got me thinking...........

I believe the Fomoco is going to be your OE unit and the Motorcraft is/was a new replacement part (not rebuilt or reman) for the Ford line. The MoCraft probably addresses a concern that they might of had and changed to update. If I remember right I think there was a big difference at the time of the warranty for the part. On some Motorcraft parts Ford used to pay a bonus if they were sold as they commanded a higher price for perceived great value/service.

I know they gave a $150 pop for a MoCraft engine sale so some of the MoCraft line had spiffs available.

You can get bolt on outlet blocks drilled for NPT fittings for the one on the right.
