Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 1995 Montero SR, im wanting to do a SAS on it with D60 front and 14 bolt rear. Which transfer case bolts up to my transmission? I think it might be a NP231? Any and all help would be appreciated!

I don't think a corp 14 bolt is any stronger than the stock 9.5" axle. Be curious to see the "specs" on them. Have to fiddle with the coils and arms or go to leafs to get the travel I bet you are looking for.

that may be, but i dont want a fullsize front axle and stock width rear axle. and also ring/pinion and locker aftermarket support. If im swapping axles and sas it, the rear coil setup's not a big task.

So back to that Transfer case! It looks like it is the NP231, but which one? Thanks for the help guys.

The NP241 will work as well which is a big upgrade over the NP231.

You can get the slip yoke kit for the 231 or the 241. They are both 2.72:1 low range unless you can find a 241 from a wrangler rubicon. That one has 4:1 low range but you can get the low range kit for a 231 to make it 4:1. I don't remeber but I thought I read the 241 had a beefier chain and plantery's. You can upgrade the 231 with beefier chain and plantery's from a dodge 231dhd.

Here's that article. I'm sure I screwed up somewhere. Some one will correct me if I'm wrong.
