Trivial pursuit...

I just scored a very nice 1984 500A LE combo, in da box; nary a nick.

Was wondering if I could send sabot slugs thru the 18.5" barrel without any surprises. It's getting set up for some serious bear country. Miss Battle-Rattle is just a bit too long for this shorty amidst da brush.

It's got the pistol grip to stick on there, but I might not have much time at the pit to get used to shooting that way, so stock might just stay on there for now. Was looking at a Knoxx for it anyway. The grip that came with the SG feels a bit funky to me.

Both barrels are smooth bore; long one is 30" with full choke.

Cordova- 7 days from now.

Yepper- was digging around in the box for the little bits, and found the dowel wasn't in the magazine tube, but laying in there.

Needs some TLC cleaning and is ready to go together. Very smooth pump, unlike my other ol' gal.

I saw a vid the other day showing how to change up the 4 shot to an 8 shot by removing the dowel, so I'll play with that when I put the shorty on there.

Body Damage is Cool
Sabot slugs are designed to be used with rifled barrels, so they may not give great accuracy out of a smoothbore. The slugs below are about the best I have ever used in a non-rifled shotgun barrel.

Thanks; they're my aw-s*** rounds; they were part of my neighbor's estate (cheap). I doubt I'll be finding that particular brand up here anytime soon. Will make the phone ring a bit.

Got a report that a grizz chased a moose straight thru the campground at the glacier this past weekend, so hopefully the kill site is a ways off if there is one.
