With all this swapping going on, just a heads up that I will have a set of 4.88's front and rear diff's for a 4cyl gen 1. Rear has a LSD, Let me know if this peaks anyone's interest. They have to be sold sooner or later.

Dibs, because the other set you gave me went and got rusty on me.

Mudraider, I'm glad to here that. Having a 3.5 DOHC in a 2dr is AWESOME, it's really a thing of beauty. Let me know if you need any info and I can do my best to give you suggestions and tips. Be prepared to ride wheelies.

JB, If you want, you shall receive. I wont bring them too you until you are ready to put them in though, or bring the truck over and we'll swap them out here. Don't want to get these rusty. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

What did you do with Dats Sport?

Also, are you talking about 4.90's when you say 4.88's? I know they are really 4.88. But didnt know they also fit into genI axles?

I still have dat's sport, I've just been spending a lot of time fixing and replacing worn parts. I will eventually have to make a post and have some pics of what I've done. Still looks the same but Mechanically will be in good shape. When I finish everything it should be a really solid truck. It will be set to go for the Sierra's this year.

As for the 4:88's, yes, they are 4:88's. I pulled them from a gen 1 4cyl truck we had at a local yard. I think it might have been a high elevation truck or something, not sure if they were just available in some states or some sort of an option you could get. And then there is a 4:88 option as well for some of the 92 or 93 gen 2's as well. Which claytk has a set of those rolling around that he probably wont be able to use at this point.

4.90's are for the big axle and high pinion front and the 4.88's are for the small axles and low pinion front diffs

I'll get some pictures up this weekend sometime but just wanted to update my progress. Dana 44 is back from the shop. Got the New 4:88 R&P installed with a spool. Hopefully this week I'll pick up my new rotors and calipers so I can get those installed and completed. Also need to pick up a set of hubs or drive flanges. Right now the D44 will be ran with stock axle shafts, need to save up some funds after the sierra trip to buy my RCV's.

I also picked up a locking sport rear end so I don't have to worry about cutting coil buckets off of a SR Rear. It will be equipped with 4:90's. It's taking forever but Its moving in the right direction at least.
