i may be able to aquire a good running 1999 dodge 2500 cummins turbo diesel 4x4 for cheap. i just bought a 2004 ford f250 so i got hauling covered, and don't really need the truck, (although an extra never hurts) i was just wondering if anyone has ever contemplated putting a cummins under the hood of the 2nd gen runner? it would make a hell of a crawler i would imagine... thoughts, speculations, ideas all welcome. it's going to be a trade deal if i get it so it will come next to free...

Roll Me Over
Some guy on pirate did it... it was pretty badd arse, he had to cut the sheetmetal and extended it atleast 6" to get the engine to fit... you'd also want to brace the frame... looootsss of work.
A 4bt cummins would fit much easier.

i made a sasquatch using a toyota engine, chassis, electrical, etc and a ford courier body a couple years ago, that was pretty involved. probably not quite as much as this swap would be, but thinking of all that torque under the hood of my runner gets me all excited. we'll see i guess. i'll look that up on pirate, thanks

Body Damage is Cool
You'll be replacing your 400 lb engine with a 1200 lb engine. Seems like it would be a little nose heavy to me.
